2011-08-21 Pikes Peak Marathon (Barr Trail, Pikes Peak, from Aug 21, 2011 05:00 AM to Aug 21, 2011 05:00 PM) — by Don Johnson

The Pikes Peak Marathon is an annual foot race from Manitou Springs to the summit of Pikes Peak and back again. There are typically about 1000 participants in the race. This is a good opportunity for EPSAR and TCSAR to work together to provide medical and rescue services at aid stations along the route.

2011-07-20 Pikes Peak Ascent (Barr Trail, Pikes Peak, from Aug 20, 2011 05:00 AM to Aug 20, 2011 05:00 PM) — by Don Johnson

The annual Pikes Peak Ascent is a foot race to the top of Pikes Peak along Barr Trail. There are typically about 2000 runners. This event is an opportunity for EPSAR and TCSAR to work together to provide medical and rescue services as aid stations along the race route. Several TCSAR members typically provide emergency communications support through ARES for this event and for the Pikes Peak Marathon the following day.
